The Multiscale EverTune

For years, guitar players asked us for a multiscale EverTune bridge – a combination of two revolutionary guitar technologies that provide unparalleled tuning stability and playability. While the concept proved to be a challenge due to the design of the EverTune system, our team worked hard and now we’re extremely excited to be able to offer it on all of our S-Series models.

The journey toward the multiscale EverTune began back in 2023 with a simple but persistent request. Players who relied on the EverTune for its tuning stability also wanted the benefits of a multiscale guitar, which improves string tension and intonation especially in lower tunings. However, EverTune’s design—with a rigid frame and proprietary components – posed a design challenge for us and our guitars.

Ultimately, we took it upon ourselves to do it.

The idea to develop the EverTune for our S-Series models started during discussions with Mike Stringer of Spiritbox, a longtime Aristides artist and friend of the company. Stringer, who played an Aristides 070S model with a Hipshot fixed bridge, as well as an 070 with an EverTune, asked us to explore the possibilities of integrating an EverTune into a multiscale design.

“Guys, can’t you just figure something out? Can’t you get EverTune to do it?” Stringer asked during a conversation with Master Builder Ferdinand Verdonk and CEO Pascal Langelaar.

Determined to make it happen, we approached EverTune with a proposal: rather than waiting for the eventual official multiscale EverTune system, why not design the custom parts ourselves?

EverTune was very supportive, providing technical drawings and insights that helped us develop a custom frame that could accommodate slanted bridge modules.

After research and prototyping, we successfully made a custom slanted EverTune frame for our 070S model. Each bridge has to be individually assembled and pieced together by hand, as well as put through strict quality control. The result? The experience of the best of both worlds: Perfect tuning stability and the enhanced ergonomics of a multiscale guitar.

This first prototype was immediately sent to Mike for testing. The results were fantastic: the system worked flawlessly from the get-go, validating the team effort to develop a multiscale bridge that worked right from the start!

We officially unveiled the multiscale EverTune at NAMM 2023, where it was met with great enthusiasm from both players and industry professionals.

Demand quickly rose, leading us to open orders for custom multiscale builds featuring the groundbreaking bridge system.

As with any development, cost remains a factor. A standard EverTune bridge is an additional cost for orders, currently priced around 450 euros more than a fixed Hipshot bridge (our standard option). The multiscale version, requiring custom machining, additional components, as well as additional assembly time, comes in at a higher price point—an 890-euro charge.

Finally, we’ve made our research and development freely available to the guitar-building community at large. If you’re interested in developing the EverTune for your own multiscale guitars, please feel free to contact us and we’ll get back to you as we can.
