Mike Stringer
Bio
Mike Stringer is a Canadian guitarist hailing from Victoria, British Columbia. Mike has long been at the forefront of the Progressive Metal scene, becoming a touring musician at only 16. After a stint in iwrestledabearonce alongside his future wife & bandmate Courtney LaPlante, Mike & Courtney formed Spiritbox in 2017, with the goal of releasing authentic, experimental music with a focus on raw emotion & instrumental technicality. Spiritbox quickly established themselves as a force of nature in the Modern Metal community with singles such as ‘Rule of Nines,” “Holly Roller,” & “Circle with Me,” driven by Mike’s dynamic guitar work including down-tuned aggressive passages & heavily-effected, crystalline ambient pieces. Their full-length album “Eternal Blue,” collaborations with Illenium & Megan Thee Stallion, & worldwide touring have further contributed to Spiritbox’s meteoric rise; the band has been honored with nominations for Grammy & Juno awards. Mike’s guitars require a tuning stability, tonal clarity, & versatility that is hard to come by in a single instrument; that’s why Mike has used Aristides guitars since 2017 from the recording of the very first Spiritbox EP.
