Bio
Jochem (born March 27th, 1992) is a Dutch guitarist best known for modern metalband Hibakusha.
He started to play guitar around the age of eight. After some years of taking guitar lessons with a rather classical approach he discovered Iron Maiden through his father, which would influence his playing more than anything else.
During the following years he joined forces with friends and inspired by the likes of Trivium and Killswitch Engage, started playing in various metalcore formations. This eventually lead to creating Hope Remains, where he explored his songwriting and performed in various Dutch venues.
During that period he discovered the more technical subgenres of Metal music and got invited to join Hibakusha, which would lead to a lot of exciting musical upgrowth. With the ‘Incarnation’ EP (2015) and full length ‘Prophet of Numbers’ (2018) taking them to stages such as Fortarock, Euroblast, Complexity and Amsterdam Metalfest.
2018 Also brought an unexpected but exciting twist in his musical career when he joined Dr. Peacock for ‘Peacock in Concert’ where intense Hardcore dance music meets a broad variety of other musical subcultures.
