Álvaro Castilla is a guitarist and educator from Granada, Spain. He began playing guitar at the age of 15, exploring styles such as flamenco, rock, blues, and metal before finding his true voice in modern heavy music. Over the years, his dedication to tone, versatility, and emotional expression has defined his distinctive style.

As one of the few musicians in Spain performing with 8-string Aristides guitars, Álvaro proudly represents the brand both across Spain and throughout Europe.

Since 2016, he has been the guitarist for Heleven, a modern metal band recognized for its emotional depth, technical precision, and powerful live shows.

With four studio albums released through Art Gates Records, Heleven has become one of the most solid acts in the Spanish metal scene, having toured extensively across Spain and shared the stage with international bands. Their latest release, New Horizons Pt. 2 (2024), showcases a darker and more refined evolution of their sound.

Álvaro is also an official artist for Orange Amps, Fortin Amplification, Bareknuckle Pickups, and Optima Strings. Through his collaboration with Aristides, he continues to push the limits of tone and creativity, using the precision and innovation of these instruments to bring his music to life both on stage and in the studio.
