Timothy Mah | Aristides Instruments

Aristides guitars

Cutting edge. I was instantly sold once I tried an Aristides at NAMM 2017. The stability, durability, sound, and amazing craftsmanship makes them the best instruments out there. Starting with the 080S as my first build in 2017, I have proudly added the 060, 060S and 070 to my arsenal. The crew is always accommodating and great to work with. Super happy to be part of the Aristides family and to declare myself an Arium Addict!

Timothy Mah

Timothy Mah is a multi-faceted musician from San Francisco, CA. He began playing music at the age of 5 on the piano, received his first guitar at 11 and it has become his instrument of choice ever since. Tim graduated high school from Oakland School for the Arts (OSA) in June 2019 where he studied Jazz guitar in the School Of Instrumental Music and is currently continuing his musical studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He was introduced to the band environment and live performances at the San Francisco Rock Project where he played from March 2012 to November 2016 and with their touring group, House Band from July 2013 to December 2016, which focused on playing classic and alternative rock music.

In the summer of 2016, Tim formed the band, Angry Asian Abrasion, in collaboration with fellow OSA students Gus Hurteau and Kevin Xu and subsequently Edgar Duchesneau, focusing on progressive metal. He released his first solo album “Tim” in December of 2015, an instrumental cover of Rock, Classical and Jazz songs. This was followed up with the release of “The List” in November of 2016, an album of covers that includes Dillinger Escape Plan, After The Burial and Machine Head. He released his first EP of original material, “The Untitled” in September of 2017 which became a main part of Angry Asian Abrasion’s setlist. In addition to new collaborative projects that have come up at Berklee, Tim continues to work on his solo recording projects focusing on instrumental progressive metal.
